Description:
The lovely half doll pictured was produced by the Sitzendorf company in Germany c. 1910. Both arms are way up with the arm on the left side raised as high as her head--perhaps she is dancing. Her wonderful face is finely detailed and her flowing hair is as if the wind is blowing it from the front and flows out from her face--this is very unusual in a half doll. Her hair is light brown with extra lines painted in to denote hair strands. In her hair is a molded gold crown or band that has colorful jewels molded in. Her fingers are so delicate and nicely formed. This is truly a spectacular, very unusual half doll. She is marked on the back with the numbers 22675. This model is pictured in an original Sitzendorf catalog, listed under the same model number #22675. It is also pictured in the Encyclopedia of Half Dolls on page 218. Height is 3 1/2". She is in great condition with no breaks, repairs or hairlines.
