Description:
Splendid little bisque head boy baby doll with a wonderful character face. Blue intaglio dreamy eyes, almost like he is just about to fall asleep with his little teddy bear. He is tucked into a basket bed that has an antique quilt underneath for his bedding and a little cover that has a pink kitty cat hand embroidered onto the front. This darling little boy doll has a fully jointed compostion body in fabulous condition. His head is marked 610 G.H.--my Cieslik's Doll Marks Book tells me that this doll was made by Gustave Heubach in Steinbach, Germany. c. 1910. Doll is in great condition with no breaks, hairlines or repairs. Hair is molded a light brown with lots of brush marks. He wears his original chemise. The little cover with the kitty cat is actually an antique cream-colored hanky. The white little fully-jointed teddy bear is not old, but I believe it is artist made with little black bead eyes, hand embroidered nose and mouth and written on the foot, Missing You. The doll is 6 1/2" high and the overall size of the basket bed is 7 1/2". All in great condition.
