Description:
A darling papier mache potty chair made by Dolly Dear, c. 1938-40 era. The base color is a lovely blue and it has the signature thick paint decoration in white which is quite intricate and beautifully done. Height is 2 1/4". The potty is in splendid condition and extremely clean. There is a tiny bit of the white trim missing from the right hand side of the arm, but it almost looks as if it came out of the factory that way as there is no sign of the paint having been there. This is a hard-to-find item. Other examples can be seen in Patty Cooper's book, "Dolly Dear Dollhouse Accessories 1928-1961." The potty chair is also pictured with other Dolly Dear items for size comparison and each is sold separately.
