German Newspaper Rack w/Early New York Times #183-10 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
This is a fantastic early German newspaper or magazine rack that can be hung on a wall. On the front portion, which protrudes, is a lovely lithograph picture of a serene landscape with a house next to a river or lake with reeds. Back of picture is marked Germany. The metal portions have a nice impressed design. Shown with the newspaper inside and out, next to it so that the lovely back portion can be seen. Overall height is 2", length is 2 1/8". The metal has a wash of brown enamel paint (and a portion of the back is also painted). Great condition with no breaks or repairs showing only very minor wear. The newspaper rack comes with the early New York Times--the newspaper title can be read, but to read the article titles, one needs a magnifying glass.
