Description:
What a fabulous Naughtly Lady, who is also referred to as a Flipper, for when she is turned over, we get a surprise--her undies have a slit in them and her bare rear in flesh tone is exposed. She represents one of the five Barrison Sisters who were a very popular act in the Folies Bergere, c. 1890's Paris. She was made by the famous German firm Schafer & Vater. These flippers are generally not marked as the modeling is completely around and there is no flat surface--this one is also not marked. But these good quality naughties have been fully documented as a Shafer & Vater manufacture and further reading can be done about them in Shona & Marc Lorrin's book, Half Dolls & , Volume 3. pg. 177. These naughtly flippers are hard to find. She has beautiful flowly hair, with molded clothing in green accented with gold, and the top portion of her dress appears to be quite sheer, as her breasts are quite defined. Great condition with no breaks or repairs. Height is 4" (in sitting position) and approximately 4 3/4" at longest point, width is 3 1/2".
