Description:
Fantastic and stately dollhouse gentleman made by the German firm of Kestner, c. 1910-15 era. Great bisque head with a serious expression. He carries his original wooden cane with a metal handle made by Gerlach. He wears his original splendid double-breasted felt wool overcoat which has a faux fur collar and cuffs, the buttons of which are Dresden paper, and faux pocket. Underneath his overcoat, one can see his white shirt and collar and a deep purple tie and he also wears elegant wool striped slacks. Shoes are molded bisque and painted black. He is just simply stately and elegant, a man-about-town, ready to move into your early dollhouse. He is 6 1/8" high. Head, arms and shoes are bisque, body is cloth. The cane was attached to his sleeve with thread many years ago. Excellent condition. He is also pictured with a wonderful huntboard and Gerlach lamp with glass shade (both sold separately) for size comparison.
