Peter Pia Room Box #193-16 SOLD

Status: Sold
This is a very hard to find roombox made by the American firm, Peter Pia, c. 1900. The roombox is made from sturdy cardboard and is imprinted on the interior as a room with a fireplace with a burning fire within, 7 pictures on the walls, imprinted walls as if they were wallpapered and with baseboards, an oriental rug on the floor and 2 windows which are cut out. The 3 sides of the exterior are imprinted as brickwork and window trimmings. The whole roombox folds down flat so that it can be put away. The roombox is in very nice condition, especially considering its age, some 110 or so years old, and the fact that it is made from card, but does show some wear, a bit of fading and aging. Size is 9" high, 10 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" deep. The last picture shows how it can be decorated with Peter Pia furniture (or other appropriate dollhouse furniture can also be used)--all items are being sold separately, and this listing only includes the roombox by itself.
