Sleep-eyed Kewpie with Original Blue Sunsuit and Wrist Tag #190-08 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
What a fantastic and adorable Kewpie. She has blue sleep eyes and is fully jointed at the arms, legs and neck. Extremely rare, 1949, hard plastic doll made by Joseph Kallus. According to John Axe's book, which is sold separately in another lot, the hard plastic sleep-eyed Kewpie was made by Effanbee for The Cameo Doll Co., owned by Joseph Kallus for just a short period of time and is extremely rare. She is all original with the original price tag and her original wrist tag and wearing her original blue sunsuit that has ruffling on the rear. She is so original that the tie in the back has never been undone. Wonderful modeling of face and top knot on hair and above ears and curls at the back of her neck. Beautiful condition as the pictures show. Wonderfully modeled star-shaped hands with separated fingers. 13" high. Fantastic and very rare doll. Splendid, unplayed with condition. She is pictured with another Kewpie in pink, sold separately.
