Description:
The exquisite lady shown is one of the most beautiful half dolls I have ever offered for sale. She is a large size, 5 1/2" high with a finely executed face. Her elaborate light brown hair style has sideways banana curls on sides with a light braiding in the back. A beautifully detailed high ruffle surrounds the neck opening of the dress with a very low front bustline. Her very fancy hat has an extending lacy folded fabric in the back. Extra detailing also includes exposed ears, long frilly cuffs, a yellow fan in one hand and an extended index finger on the other hand. This is an extraordinarily beautiful piece of high quality art and very difficult to fine. Base is solid underneath and marked with numbers on the back. Made in Germany c.1915. Great condition with no breaks or repairs. This fabulous doll is pictured in "The Collector's Encyclopedia of Half-Dolls."
