Grodnetal Lady with Yellow Hat #198-20 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
Wonderful, early small all wooden doll hand painted from Grodnetal, which was Austria and today now part of Northern Italy. She is 2 3/4" high, turned wood, with head hand carved and all hand painted. Made early to mid-1800. These very early dolls are very difficult to find. She has a yellow painted hat, hand painted simple facial features, brown painted dress with a scarf painted on her neck, coming down onto her dress. Arms are not jointed. Front of dress has stripes painted and bottom base is dark green. Very nice condition, with no breaks or repairs. Matches Grodnetal man with black hat, sold separately.
