Dollhouse Food Suckling Pig on Porcelain Platter #199-16 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
This roast suckling pig on a porcelain platter is one of the best dollhouse foods I have ever seen. Great, early dollhouse food is quite hard to find. The pig is made from a fired brown ceramic. There is a molded hole in the center of its back into which painted greens have been inserted. There are also greens on the sides of the pig at the bottoms. The roast suckling pig is attached to an oval porcelain long platter. Made in Germany c. 1900. Beautifully made and rare. Length of pig is 2". Length of platter is 2 5/8" long. Would look splendid in the center of a large dollhouse dining room table. In the last photo, the roast pig on platter is shown on a longish kitchen table/counter which I removed from a Gottschalk room kitchen room box just for the demonstration. The table/counter is not for sale.
