Evans & Cartwright Table c.1830 #201-34 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
Wonderful and very early, tin Evans and Cartwright pedestal table with 3 lion claw feet, c. 1830. Made in England. Japanned in a light mahogany enamel paint with wood grain, hand done. Evans and Cartwright was one of the earliest dollhouse furniture manufacturers--research about this firm was done by Liza Antrim in England and examples can be seen in her book, "Family Dolls' Houses." These early pieces are so rare and hard to find. There is wear on this table and a small separation 1/8" on the bottom base. But still, this is a beautiful and extremely rare table. It is just about impossible to find these in perfect condition because of the material and their age and scarcity. 2 1/2" high. 3" across the top.
