Description:
Lynnfield bookcase with two doors at the bottom with impressed panels on the doors, which open, made c. 1940. This particular bookcase was made only for a short period before and the beginning of World War II. High quality, solid mahogany, with a nicely made broken pedestal at the top with ball decoration. Great finish in a deep reddish mahogany. Great workmanship with dado construction of the shelves which are inserted into the sides, a feature of earlier Lynnfield. One inch scale, 6 1/2" high to top of pedestal. Many colorful faux books, made from wood with spines covered with imprinted paper. Some of the book groupings are removable and some are permanently attached. Great condition with no breaks or repairs.
