Early Hanging Picture #196-34 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
This is a very early hanging picture which holds an early hand-colored lithograph print of a young girl dancing with arms up and holding a tamborine. It is c. 1860-70 era, German made. The round frame is made from silver color metal with ornate looped design all around and a molded basket of flowers at the top. A wire hanger is attached to the back ready for hanging. Lined with early, aged paper on the back which looks to be original. It looks to be missing a prong on the back, but the other 3 prongs are sturdy and hold the picture very nicely. The frame, picture and glass are in great condition. It is so rare to find such a lovely decorative item as this picture and in great condition for the early dolllhouse. Diameter from one side to the other is 2 1/4" which is perfect for the 1" scale dollhouse.
