Description:
Lovely mahogany lowboy hand made by Walfrid Victoreen in Pittsfield, MA, c. 1946. Mr. Victoreen was a craftsman who made dollhouse furniture for just a few short years. The finely-made mahogany lowboy pictured here has high cabriole legs with an interesting curved skirt and two upper drawers with 3 lower drawers. The center lower drawer has a hand-carved shell design. All the drawers have custom made short round brass pulls. Lovely finish throughout. 1" scale. 3 1/16" high. Rare and hard to find. Great condition with no breaks or repairs. It is marked on the back: W.T. Victoreen, Pittsfield, Mass., as pictured above. An example of this lovely lowboy can be seen in The Bennington Museum collection online. Last photo shows two Victoreen chairs with the lowboy and all are sold separately.
