Description:
Just look at that sailor's face--what a naughtly look he has!! This great sailor with long beard and with quite a look has just hoisted the amply shaped bathing beauty, snuggling close. Perhaps he is saving her from floundering in the water....but she doesn't seem to mind! No need for that life preserver! Super great modeling on this porcelain piece made by the German firm of Schafer & Vater. She has quite the buxom shape and ample derriere, with her pink bathing outfit and green bathing cap. Marked with the Schafer & Vater logo and a partial Made in Germany on the bottom. The back portion is actually a container. Fantastic piece. Great condition with no breaks or repairs. Height is 4" and width at widest point is 3 3/4". These funny early pieces are getting harder and harder to find.
