Made in the 1800's. The 2 pans are removable, as shown, and made from brass. The interior portions which pivot back and forth are made from tin. The back portion of the cast iron base is enameled just as beautifully as the front. 3 7/8" long. Beautiful original paint and in fabulous condition. This is an extremely rare item. I cannot find any markings on it. Most likely American made. Great early patina. This lovely scale was purchased from the estate of Flora Gill Jacobs, owner of the Washington Dollhouse Museum.
