Description:
Fabulous all bisque Reclining Kewpie made by the German firm of Kester, designed by Rose O'Neill, c. 1910-15. This little darling is laying on his back kicking up one foot, while his two little hands are bracing him, with a sweet expression on his face looking up as if to say, "Just try putting my diaper on while I'm kicking!" The little scamp is 4 1/2" long, a hard Kewpie piece to find, and simply darling. He is fully marked on his back, incised O'Neill, copyright symbol and numbers, some of which is difficult to see in the photo. This would make a great addition to a collection! Great condition with no breaks or repairs. The last photos shows him with a Kewpie Thinker who is over 6" high at top knot. Kewpie Thinker is sold separately.
