Kestner School Girl with Book #194-28 SOLD

Description:
Darling 3 3/4" high, all bisque school girl made by the German Kestner firm, with blue glass stationary eyes, blond mohair wig and all original clothing. c. 1900-1910 period. Nicely painted facial features, with lots of hand painted black lashes making her eyes really stand out. She is jointed at the arms and legs and has molded brown shoes with white stockings with the typical Kestner blue line at top of stockings. Under her arm is tucked an early book, cover made from deep pumpkin color leatheretted, with hand lettering in black ink: Alice in Wonderland; the same is written on the first page inside, the rest of the pages are blank. Book is removable. Clothing is beautifully made. This little girl is a charmer. All in great condition with no breaks or repairs.
