Gerlach Red Paper Roll #191-04

Status: Available Price: $115.00
Description:
Wonderfully made metal table top paper roll in red enamal with a lovely impressed design on the two sides made by the German firm of Gerlach, c. 1910 era. The reverse side, which is also shown, has a strip with teeth to simulate a real paper roll where the paper could be ripped off. Because this is a toy, the paper does not actually roll but is stationary. All in beautiful condition, the paper showing great early patina. The red enameling is in really nice condition. Extremely rare 1" scale. Length is 2" at longest part at the base and height is 1 3/8". Would be great for an early kitchen, any kind of shop including bake shop, butcher shop, hat shop, or others as all things used to be wrapped in paper with string around the package. This great paper roll is a really great, rare item.
