Description:
What a fabulous large size bisque Kewpie Thinker, I believe the largest that was made....he is over 6" high with the top knot included. Made by the German firm of Kestner and designed by Rose O'Neill. c. 1910-15. Great expression, with fantastic eyes looking to the side with white eye dots that protrude quite substantially when viewed from the side. He is dressed in an early orange crepe paper cape with high collar and black crepe paper accent at neck. At one time, a collector has added a fabulous tall hard plastic witch's hat, making him even more appealing. Beautiful condition with no breaks or repairs. This guy is such a charmer! The last photo shows him with a Reclining Kewpie who is 4 1/2" long for size comparison. Reclining Kewpie is sold separately.
