Description:
This is one of the greatest German kitchen room boxes I have ever come across and is a marvelous show piece. All the cream color wooden furniture pieces, which total 8 pieces, including all the hanging wooden pieces are from one matching set and they are in beautiful condition. The towel holder in the back still has it's original paper towel!! All the cabinet doors and the drawer open and close and the dough box hangs above the dough rolling table at the right wall. Many of the furniture pieces have impressed designs and then dark blue outlining hand painted giving a lovely contrast to the cream color. There are a multitude of accessories including wooden barrel, hand cut wooden boards hanging, wooden bowl and also many metal German dishes, pitcher, containers, some of which are marked Germany. Hanging Tin grater, ceramic bowls and pitcher, hand woven basket, a bowl of green limes sitting in a copper hand-wrought bowl which sits on top of a lovely mauve color table cloth, stitched with white thread creating a wonderful design--the wonderful accessories seem to be endless. The complete set is antique and in splendid, wonderful condition. The room box itself is German with wonderful wallpaper in imitation of tiles and also the paper floor, all of which is all original. The sides have lovely blue designs on the front of the room box. The room box itself shows aging but is original paint and papers. The size of the front of the room box is: 19" long, 9 " deep, and 9 1/4" high. The height of the tallest cabinet is 7", the shorter cabinet is 5 1/4". All the wooden furniture pieces are marked Germany as shown in the photo of the underneath of the table. So great and so hard to find with so many early accessories. c. 1900
