Schoenhut Dollhouse with Rare Original Bushes #197-18

Status: Available Price: $695.00
Description:
Fantastic Shoenhut dollhouse from 1928 which still has the original extremely hard-to-find bushes. The bushes are on their own removable cardboard base and there are 4 dark green bushes attached (it looks like 2 bushes are not there). I have never come across these original bushes before with any Schoenhut dollhouse I have seen even though they are pictured with this dollhouse in the Schoenhut catalog....because they are loose, I believe the majority of these small bases with bushes have become lost over the years. The house in the catalog is marked Dagger 5/51. The house also has its original Schoenhut label as can be seen on one of the side photos. The Schoenhut dollhouse has 5 rooms, with a stairway and each side opens up for access to the rooms. The 5th room is revealed when the front roof is opened. All paint and papers on the floor which represent hardwood are original; there has been no touch-up or repaint to any areas. The size of the house is 17 3/4" h. x 17" l. x 13" deep. Great size. Colors are a wonderful cream and green. The original chimney is on the green roof. Top windows have their flower boxes with remnants of the original flowers. The windows have their original curtains as can be seen in the photos--the front kitchen window has no curtain. There is a little bit of wear but, as can be seen, this house is in splendid condtion, especially for its age. One side metal hook is missing, but the other one is present. There is some furniture included with the house as can be seen in the photos. There are Tootsietoy pieces and some living room upholstered furniture, all the correct size for the house. This house is an estate piece and the furnishings came with it, so I have left them included. Albert Shoenhut the owner of the Schoenhut toy firm was from Philadelphia and he made dollhouse for just a short period, so his dollhouses in really good, original condition are difficult to find.
