Description:
What a darling little German-made Dolly Dingle with side-glancing intaglio blue eyes with an impish expression dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. Dolly Dingle was designed by Grace Drayton in the very early 1900's, and this model was made by Armand Marsielles in Germany and is marked on the back of the neck "210 AM." She has molded hair in the Dolly Dingle style, closed mouth with what is referred to as a "watermelon" smile, chubby round cheeks and a tiny button nose. Her head is bisque and the body is chubby composition with brown molded 2-strap shoes. Her red and white antique dress is crotched with a matching red crocheted cape with darling hood--the early ribbon on the hood is the same as that on the dress. She holds her early basket with composition fruit. 7 1/2" high. Great condition with no breaks or hairlines
