Simon and Halbig All Bisque Child with Bent Knees #194-3 9 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
Fantastic and oh so rare all bisque toddler child by Simon & Halbig, made in Germany c. 1880, with the very rare feature of bent knees so that she can sit easily in a chair. Wonderful execution and very high quality, face is fantastic, beautiful modeling of head and body, the trademark of Simon & Halbig. Bare feet, one of the signs of an early all bisque doll. Both hands are molded in fits. Gorgeous face, I just can't say enough about this doll. Height is just a smidge under 4". Great very early peachy/rust silk dress trimmed with lace....I believe is original to her. Dress shows aging. Splendid early lace slip. This doll with her dress came from a family here in Massachusetts, passed down from one generation to the next. She is pictured in an early chair (chair is not for sale). Jointed at arms and legs. Great condition with no breaks, repairs or hairlines.
