Description:
This charming and shapely lass is getting ready to go bathing with her blue swimsuit, with matching swim shoes and bathing cap. She is hanging up her dress; her bloomers, corset on the bench and brown boots are also depicted, all contained in a colorful light green and light brown "wooden" changing cabin. The back side shows the door of the cabin with the peep hole in the center of the door. All sides of the fabulous porcelain piece is finished off, even the roof, the sides and the bottom. This lovely piece was produced by the German company of Shafer & Vater. Many of these pieces were not marked, as this one is not, but have been fully documented by researchers. Beautiful condition with no breaks or repairs. c. 1900. These fabulous early bathing beauties are getting harder and harder to find.
