Description:
Fabulous American dollhouse huntboard made from solid mahogany, c. 1920's. All four legs are cabriole with beautiful curvatures and padded feet, with lovely ornately carved skirt front and back in the centers. Solid mahogany with a beautiful finish. Scored designs on the two doors and center draw, all of which open and have small brass knobs. Lovely beveling on the edges of the top. Beautiful and excellent workmanship. This piece matches furniture including chairs, a dresser and beds that can be seen in the Bradford House at the Smithsonian Institue; the same craftsman believed to be from New Jersey made this and those pieces--they all have very distinctive shapes to the legs. Size is 3 1/2" high by 5 5/8" long. Also pictured with a dollhouse gentleman and Gerlach lamp with glass shade (both are sold separately) for size compariosn.
