Description:
What a wonderful and very early leather bound book with impressed decorations on the front and back covers. Contains 16 pages of lithograph engravings of Clifton, a city in England with beautiful scenery. c. 1865. The suspension bridge was completed in 1864, so this book must have been published directly after completion. One can see the clothing styles of the people in the pictures as being of the 1860's era. Published by John Newman & Co. London, engravers & publishers of topographical views. Size of miniature book is 2 1/8" x 2 3/8". Beautiful condition with just slight fading of color on the cover. Pictures can be pulled out like an accordian if wished, or can be read as a book.
