Description:
What a fantastic and rare early doll's album with a photograph of a French Fashion doll with long blond hair and a beautiful face. There is one photograph of the fashion doll and the rest of mostly children and some adults. There are altogether 23 pictures. The cover is beautiful red imbossed leather and the spine, front and back read: Fairy Album. The closure is brass. Edges are gold gilt. Size is 1 3/4" wide, 1 7/8" long and 3/4" deep, the perfect for a fashion doll or other antique doll. C. 1870. This is an extremely rare item especially having a photo of a fashion doll, when photography was in its infancy...there are very few early photographs of fashion dolls. Later dolls, yes, but fashion doll photography of the era is extremely rare. The album is in beautiful condition, with just slight aging.
