Simon & Halbig Dollhouse Toddler or Baby w/Yellow Stockings #184-18 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
Fantastic dollhouse toddler or baby made by the German firm of Simon & Halbig. She is very early c. 1885 and instead of the common wire or elastic jointing that most all bisque dolls have, this little gem is peg jointed at the shoulders and hips, a sign of an early, high quality all bisque doll. She is 2" high, and in perfect porportion for a baby or toddler with short blond molded hair and very delicately painted facial features, extremely well done, especially considering the tiny size of this little girl. But what is really amazing, and something I have not come across in such a small doll is that she has yellow stockings with the tiniest molded Maryjane, one-strap black shoes, the soles of which are beige. Her original darling little dress is all original with lots of lace and original aqua color ribbon at the waiste and tied in the back with a bow. Underneath is her original lace slip and panties as shown in the photo of the close-up of her yellow stockings and shoes. Excellent condition with no breaks or repairs. Beautifully modeled head, arms and legs just as expected from Simon & Halbig. Perfect 1" scale. Her clothing has never been removed and even the bow in the back is originally tied. This little girl is a gem.
