Description:
Splendid looking dollhouse matron, made by the German firm of Kestner, c. 1930. I can picture this matronly lady taking charge of the dollhouse. The lady is in all original condition. She is stylishly dressed in her original 2 piece matching outfit with great geometric print, so typical of the era. She wears an over-blouse or tunic with a white linen broad collar over a matching flared skirt. She has bisque head with molded light brown hair, bisque forearms and hands, and legs with molded petite brown slippers. Her face is also shown close-up, which shows a beauty mark on her chin, so charming, just like a real person. She is 5" high, perfect for the 1" scale dollhouse. These are the types of German bisque dolls which were sold through the Tynietoy catalogs, so she would be perfect in a house with Tynietoy furnishings. She would also be appropriate for any early dollhouse, either German-made or American. She is in wonderful condition, no breaks or repairs. There is slight aging of her clothing. She is also pictured with a 1" scale Tynietoy butterfly table, which is sold separately under Antique Dollhouse Furniture, for size comparison.
