Description:
This nicely made early Santa is permanently affixed to a round cardboard base that is covered with mica flakes to represent snow. His navy blue slacks and red overcoat are cardboard, covered with felt with his sleaves and hat the same felt material--white cotton trim on coat and hat. His face is nicely molded papier mache with good detailing and nice facial painting. Hands and feet are chenille covered wire and he holds a brush Christmas tree branch. 5 1/2" tall to the top of his head with the point of his hat extending higher. Nice condition, no breaks or repairs. Made c. 1920. Shown with other Christmas items, sold separately, for size comparison. It is difficult to find a santa in the correct size, 1" scale, which fits into a dollhouse setting.
